Why do we need to reimagine White Accountability Spaces?
Many White accountability groups are built around good intentions, yet participants often struggle to sustain meaningful engagement over time that leads to changed behavior and actions. Conversations can become performative, intellectually disconnected from lived experience, or focused primarily on individual guilt rather than collective responsibility and relationship.
Drawing on Relational-Cultural Theory, critical race scholarship, and the lived experiences of White facilitators committed to racial justice, I explore what it means to reimagine White accountability spaces as communities rooted in humility, mutuality, curiosity, and connection.
