Living in the Both/And
I am a social justice scholar, writer, facilitator, and leadership coach whose work explores the relational conditions necessary for transformative social change. My research focuses on the work that people racialized as White must do to cultivate the humility, accountability, and relational awareness required for authentic multiracial coalition building.
For more than twenty years, I have designed and facilitated learning experiences in educational and organizational settings. Across these spaces, I have been drawn to questions of identity, power, and human connection, creating opportunities for people to engage deeply with themselves and one another in ways that foster reflection, accountability, and growth.
I earned my Ph.D. in Leadership and Change from Antioch University and my dissertation was on the lived experiences of White facilitators of racial equity work. As a founding member of the Bothand Collective, I collaborate with educators, facilitators, activists, and artists committed to strengthening the relational capacities needed for meaningful social change. My writing and facilitation draw from Relational-Cultural Theory, critical race scholarship, and my own experience navigating the complexities of White identity in the pursuit of social justice. I explore how individuals and groups can move beyond a culture of disconnection toward relationships grounded in mutuality, accountability, and collective action.
I have been invited to speak and facilitating learning sessions at universities, conferences, and professional gatherings on topics including White accountability, racial justice, and leadership for social change. As both a scholar and facilitator, I seek to create spaces where people can deepen their understanding of themselves, strengthen their relationships with others, and imagine new possibilities for multiracial coalition building.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope my work offers ideas, questions, and conversations that support your own learning and practice.
